A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST - KWADASO AGRIC DISTRICT
The Church of Pentecost Kwadaso Agric District traces its roots to the broader Pentecostal movement in Ghana, which began in 1937. The Church of Pentecost, founded by Pastor James McKeown, rapidly spread across the nation and became one of the most influential Christian denominations in Ghana. Over the years, the Church of Pentecost has remained committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, building strong communities of believers, and making disciples in every part of the country.
The Kwadaso Agric District was formed as part of the church’s ongoing effort to reach the diverse and growing population in the rural and agricultural areas of Kumasi, specifically around the Kwadaso region. It started with a small group of passionate believers who gathered for prayer, Bible study, and fellowship, seeking to fulfill the Great Commission of making disciples of all nations.
In the early years, the district faced challenges, including limited resources and a relatively small congregation, but the dedication of its members and leaders helped the church grow steadily. Through the power of prayer and a focus on evangelism, the Church of Pentecost Kwadaso Agric District became a strong spiritual center for the surrounding community. Its outreach efforts were centered on meeting the physical and spiritual needs of people, providing a safe place for worship and fellowship, and encouraging personal transformation.
As the church continued to grow, it expanded its facilities to accommodate its increasing congregation. The District leadership focused on establishing various ministries to serve the needs of all age groups, including children, youth, men, and women. We believe that God is shifting His Church to a place of cutting-edge impact in this generation, ‘for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance’ Romans 11:29 (KJV).
